Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.x)

Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) is the code name for Android version 4.x from Google. CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) is an enhanced version of ICS. CM9 is in very preliminary development and should be considered "beta" at this time.

Nookie Honeycomb (Android 3.0)

Nookie Honeycomb is an experimental version of Android 3.0, which is based on a pre-compiled "programmers's release" of Honeycomb from Google.

CyanogenMod "CM7" (Android 2.3)

Cyanogenmod 7 (CM7), based on Android 2.3 ("Gingerbread"), is a heavily-enhanced firmware available for over 30 different devices, including the Nook. The Nook version has several enhancements, including bluetooth support and more.

Nookie Froyo (Android 2.2)

Nookie Froyo is a "vanilla" installation of Android 2.2 with few Nook-specific enhancements. (Barnes & Noble's "stock" 1.2 firmware is also based on Android 2.2 but is heavily modified.)
