how do i upgrade apps on nook? --Spec 17:27, 18 February 2010 (PST)

I just deleted the app from /data/app/ using shell and then upgraded to latest version using adb install. no problems so far. --Spec 18:01, 18 February 2010 (PST)
You can also use the Nookdevs feed in trook to upgrade apps (point and click) --th3lolz
Thanks - good to know (that info should definitely be in wiki somewhere). I think i was getting a failure from uninstall because I included the .apk extension in command line, instead it should have been (example) adb uninstall com.nookdevs.browser (no .apk in the end). It would also be great if wifilocker had its own page, in case some people wonder what is it for. --Spec 08:23, 19 February 2010 (PST)
I created a page for Nook WiFi Locker --Th3lolz

>== Post-softroot help request. How to install apps vis ADP? ==

Installed ADB on Windows computer.

Connected Nook to Windows computer. Nook is showing USB Drive Mode.

On Windows computer, click Start, Run, "adb shell" without quotes

Terminal opens, and shows following:

  • daemon not running. starting it now *
  • daemon started successfully *

  1. How do I add an app from here, for instance NookMarket?
  2. Where do download nookMarket.apk to? If on the MicroSD card, what path?
  3. What path on the ADB shell do I run "adb install nookMarket.apk"?
Does this work for you? Isn't nookmarket part of softroot (you just need to add it to the menu)? --Spec 16:51, 2 September 2010 (PDT)
Yes, your link works! nookMarket is not installed by default.
