Talk:NookColor:Manual market enable

Hello. I just recently rooted my Nook Color, and got market running, loaded apps, and have been using the device for a few days. I had wireless off for a while, while I was watching a movie, then turned wireless back on. When I did, I was quickly given a message stating there was a problem authorizing the device, then it reset the device, and started up with a "Clearing data..." Now, all is back to stock, save the nc_gapps is loaded (not functional...) I now have to reroot it. Does anyone know, has B&N done something to reset some rooted devices when logging into B&N? --Crandallbk 18:46, 18 December 2010 (PST)

I found this was because the auto update was still on, and B&N release 1.0.1. I updated it to 1.0.1 after it reset back to stock, rerooted it using the newer autonooter image, reloaded apps, and all is well. For those in the same boat, disable future updates by:

adb shell mount -o rw,remount -t ext2 /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /system

adb shell mv /etc/security/otacerts.zip /etc/security/otacerts.zip_DISABLED_OTA_UPDATES
