soft versions

Trook is mentioned in the list of NookMarket with no version in the title and nooklets are mentioned as 1.0 while they are at rev 3 (or perhaps it's different version of nooklets available of nookmarket?). I also see PDFViewer last in the list - it looks to be the same app as APDFViewer, so the name should be consistent - either PDFViewer or APDFViewer... --Spec 09:52, 31 July 2010 (PDT)

Trook is not maintaining the version in android manifest file. That's why it's not showing the correct details. Same for nooklets as well. It's rev 3, but in manifest file, it's given as 1.0.

It should be APDFViewer. I"LL fix it. - --Hari 13:37, 31 July 2010 (PDT)

I installed nookmarket on my 1.4.2, whenever i attempt to install an app it tells me instation blocked and to get to the settings applications menu (that doesnt exist) and to allow unknown sources, is there a manual way to get around this? --Prophreak 07:49, 19 October 2010 (PDT)

Take a look: http://nookapps.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/feed/howto.html --Dominik 12:09, 19 October 2010 (PDT)

Wishlist

  • Apps should be listed on main screen and the actions should be listed on the touchscreen. Right now it's a bit of a waste of real estate. GUI design should be similar to nookLibrary - list on top, actions on touchscreen
  • nookMarket should also list all installed applications with their versions
  • applications that are already installed, for which there are updates should indicate both the update version available and installed version, with "Update" button listed on touch screen

VPN Application

Hi, Anyone able to make an app that starts an openvpn connection then opens the B&N Store, closing the vpn connection when the store is closed.

For additional bonus points add a way to add/adjust vpn settings/passwords, and install openvpn when installing the app.

I Will pay for this! It will be of such great use to international nook users as it is possible to buy books from B&N using a USA vpn connection - no need for US credit card. -- ceenz

nookMarket and firmware/softroot 1.5

Has anyone been able to download and upgrade apps with nookMarket on firmware 1.5/softroot 2.5.x? I'm getting install failed when i try to download apps. I would like to make it work without file. --Spec 08:58, 7 December 2010 (PST)

No. It's just a lapse that the additional apps are system apps in the 2.5.x firmware. It is not even possible to uninstall the apps using ADB ("adb uninstall xxx" or "adb shell pm uninstall xxx" won't work), you need to rm the apk in /system/app, followed by uninstalling. I removed all additional apps, reinstalled nookMarket via ADB and installed the other apps through nookMarket. --Dominik 12:22, 7 December 2010 (PST)
I did not use 2.5.0 or 2.5.1 to update. My apks are in /data/app not /system/app as it is in 2.5.x. I'll try installing nookMarket via adb, but i thought install would just copy the apk to /data/app which is what i have right now and it doesn't work. In 2.5.x services.jar is not patched which I thought was the reason for nookmarket failing. --Spec 15:07, 7 December 2010 (PST)
