Talk:Main Page
From nookDevs
I've added a number of pages from Google Cache... There were a few others, but mostly general stuff that was either wrong, or not nook specific enough to be worth saving. All need some loving attention to clean them up so they look correct, etc. -- SethCohn
I wrote some instructions on how to build a cheap ($2) LED booklight for the nook - is it ok to create a page with the instructions on this wiki?
sure. I would be interested to try it out - Hari
Can you guys add this to the application development part of the front page? https://nookdevs.com/Getting_Started_with_Nook_Development - lol please?
Can you add languages support to the main page?

Typo
Blurb at the top of the page should read "bruised egos" instead of "bruised ego's."
Yes, I am that asshole. ;)
- I'm pretty sure the 's is a contraction and the sentence is a fragment. Contraction aside, it would read: "The site is mostly back online, bruised ego is mostly fixed." --Zyrjello 15:05, 24 February 2010 (PST) (trying to out-asshole the asshole)
remove PDF font smoothing in Nook
If this can be done, the smaller fonts will be viewed more clearly, If there's anyway?

What's happen?
Hi guys, excuse me for my english.
I've a nook with serial that start with 10046 and the preinstalled 1.4.3.
I've followed the procedure in https://nookdevs.com/User_talk:Naerymdan with the "no router" method https://nookdevs.com/Rooting_New_Hardware_No_Router.
So, i've rooted the nook and installed the launcher as told in https://nookdevs.com/User_talk:Naerymdan with the wifi_locker and the APDF (i'm sad cause the application don't have the possibility to center the document and scroll it only vertically without make a "zig zag" lecture", i've rooted the nook pratically only for this).
However the problem is this.
As indicated i've disabled abd at starting to reduce the battery discarging and all is ok, but when i'm gone to update to 1.5 as indicated in the link above the nook, (at this moment connected to a wifi withoutd dns modified), the nook report an error during the download of firmware and however don't update the b&n library.
Why? Is possible that the nook has took the the wrong dns indication and so don't resolve well the address?
So after some reboot and check of FirmwareUpdateService.apk (to ensure me that the app for update is ok) i've decided to use "reset to factory".
After the b&n library update but the download of 1.5 firmware not (the battery at this moment is up to 35%), so i've make the update manually downloading the file from b&n site and copying in the "main" directory".
The update is ok but i've lost all application installed and also the nook launcher. What's happen??? the problem is the update maked manually? the guide indicate to make the upgrade.
The last question is, and i say thank you for your work in all cases, can i make the hard reset holding the power button when i want?
Can i restart to root the nook?
Thank you so much,
Andrea
2° moment. hi guys, i've made an hard reset. i don't know if i will root again the nook, i need only a better pdf reader but the apdf isn't right for read better a book that i want to read with a pdf-reader application.
a question..... but the state of my init.rc and wifi_stop at this moment? the hard reset replace all at the original status right?
NOW I'VE this PROBLEM, after the hard reset, and register my account, the nook is in 1.4.3 firmaware but continue to give me an errore whe go to download the update... is strange ... why?
