Import/Export Method
In order to get your contacts to show up in Gmail, Google Voice, K9, etc follow these instructions:
- Navigate to (doing this on a desktop is easiest).
- Select the contacts you would like to have on your NookColor
- Choose 'Export' then export these contacts to vcard (vcf) format.
- Place this file on the root of your microSD card
- Download 'Import Contacts' by edam from the market.
- Use this to import your contacts and you're good to go!
Now, when you begin typing someone's name, their email or phone number, etc will show up in the programs mentioned above.
Enjoy!
Touchdown Exchange Method
Another method, albeit an expensive one, is to install the Touchdown for Android application, which is an Exchange client. It's free for 30 days, but pretty expensive to purchase after the trial period.
Set it up as follows..
- Username and/or Email all
- Domain leave blank
- Password use your Google password
- Server: m.google.com
- SSL and other options you can leave their defaults
When it finishes syncing, you should have your contacts. Unfortunately you can't do this and then uninstall, as it apparently also removes the contacts on the device it synced in, but if you already own Touchdown this is another method to get contacts into the device.
